About the therapist:

I’m Emilia McGloin, a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over the course of my career, I have worked with those who have struggled with addiction,depression, anxiety, mood disorders, traumas, and so much more.

What I Offer

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is exactly how it sounds. It utilizes eye movement stimulation to connect the left hemisphere to the right hemisphere of your brain to develop new neural pathways to help cope with your trauma. EMDR can also be utilized for PTSD, different forms abuse, domestic violence, grief, attachment wounds, and many other prominent life issues

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is probably the most versatile and extensively researched form of psychotherapy. In the simplest explanation, CBT utilizes psychoeducation to identify negative thoughts and replace them with more positive/helpful thoughts to change how you think and feel. CBT can be utilized to treat a broad range of clinical issues, such as, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, life changes, and other mental illnesses.

Integrative

You are not your diagnosis. Each individual will be evaluated and treated as such. Though there may be times EMDR or CBT will be utilized, you as a client, come first. We will build on your current strengths, implement new coping strategies, relaxation techniques, and create a routine that you feel empowered to continue alone.

Every great relationship begins with rapport. It is my focus to make you feel comfortable, free from judgement, and highly affirming. We will go at your pace.

Determining Best Approach

Once rapport has been established we will develop a plan and determine what therapeutic treatment will best support your journey to wellness.

Weekly Sessions

Each week we will create focus with utilizing talk therapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or an integrative approach

Each therapy appointment is 50-60 minutes long. Every session, you will receive a link to your appointment. Every session is locked for privacy. 

What benefits can I expect from working with a therapist?

Benefits may vary for each individual, though improved self-esteem, decrease in anxiety or worries, and improved outlook on the world are amongst the most reported.

Should I choose individual or group therapy?

Unfortunately, there is no set time frame. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to that individual and the length of time therapy can take to accomplish the goals you set are determined by your commitment to the process.
